    Sell Chainlink

    Chainlink (LINK) logo

Sell LINK at the live rate. It is an ERC-20 token, so the two things to check are that you have ETH for gas and that your LINK is on the chain we are quoting.

    How it works

    How to sell Chainlink

Selling Chainlink with Anytime Capital takes only a few minutes:

    1. Enter the amount of Chainlink you want to sell.
    2. Choose how you want to be paid — bank transfer, debit card, or one of the other payout methods.
    3. You need a small amount of ETH in the same wallet to send LINK — the token cannot pay its own gas. If your LINK is staked, start the unbonding first.
    4. Send your LINK to the address shown, then complete verification if you have not already.
    5. Receive your money.

LINK cannot pay its own transaction fee

Chainlink's token is an ERC-20 on Ethereum, which means moving it costs gas and gas is paid in ETH. A wallet holding a large LINK balance and no ETH cannot send anything. This is the most common reason a LINK sale stalls before it starts, and the fix is simply to fund the wallet with a small amount of ETH first. It is worth checking the current gas price before you do: the cost of an ERC-20 transfer on Ethereum mainnet varies a great deal with network demand.

Staked LINK has a cooldown before it can move

Chainlink Staking lets LINK holders back the network's oracle services in exchange for rewards, and the design deliberately does not allow instant exits — unstaking means entering a cooldown period before the tokens become withdrawable. The exact length is set by the staking contract and has changed between versions, so check what your position shows rather than assuming. As with any staked asset, start the exit before you take a price, not after.

The LINK on other chains is not always the same LINK

LINK circulates on many networks. Some of that is native LINK issued through Chainlink's own cross-chain infrastructure; some is a bridged representation minted by a third party. They usually trade together and usually redeem one-for-one, but they are distinct tokens with distinct contract addresses, and a payout address expecting one will not credit the other. If your LINK is on a chain other than Ethereum, check the payout screen before sending, and bridge back to Ethereum if that is what it asks for.

    What LINK actually buys

Chainlink is an oracle network: it takes data that exists off-chain — prices, interest rates, weather, proof that a payment cleared — and delivers it to smart contracts that cannot fetch it themselves. Node operators are paid in LINK for doing that reliably, and a great deal of decentralised finance depends on those price feeds being correct. That is the demand story for the token, and it is unusual in being a fee-for-service one rather than a governance or gas one. It has been running since 2017.

How long does it take to send LINK to us?

Chainlink settles on Ethereum, where a transfer typically confirms in 30 seconds – 5 minutes. Ethereum adds a block every 12 seconds, and most platforms credit ETH and ERC-20 deposits within 1–5 minutes. Full protocol finality — the point where the network mathematically cannot roll the transaction back — arrives in about 13 minutes (two epochs), which is why some custodians hold large deposits slightly longer. We start your payout once the transfer has confirmed on-chain, so this is the part of a sale you are usually waiting on.

What does it cost to send LINK?

That is a Ethereum network fee, paid to the network rather than to us: Usually under $1 for an ETH transfer and $0.50–$3 for an ERC-20 token transfer in 2025–2026, after the 2024 Dencun upgrade pushed activity to cheaper L2s; demand spikes still multiply that. LINK is a ERC-20 token, so the fee is paid in ETH — you need a little ETH in the same wallet to move it. See /fees-and-limits for what Anytime Capital charges.

What do LINK addresses look like?

Standard address: 0x + 40 hex characters. The same address holds ETH and every ERC-20 token (USDT, USDC, LINK, SHIB…) Check the first and last characters against the address on the payout screen before you send — a Ethereum transfer cannot be reversed once it is confirmed.
